Murphy lauds opening of Hackensack Meridian med school as part of ‘innovation economy’

Gov. Phil Murphy hailed the opening of the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University as key to his vision to reclaim New Jersey’s “innovation economy.” The medical school is the anchor tenant of ON3 by Prism Capital Partners, the redevelopment project of the former corporate campus of Switzerland-based pharmaceutical giant Hoffman-LaRoche, which straddles the border of Nutley and Clifton. “This school also revitalizes a major economic hub in North Jersey and it moves us ever closer to our goal of reclaiming the innovation economy,” Murphy said at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the first private medical school to open in the state in decades.
