Hackensack Meridian Health Experts Talk Finding Funding
January 03, 2020
Funding is the crucial ingredient of scientific research. The experts at Hackensack Meridian Health, who know best about finding grants for both clinical and non-clinical projects, will host a forthcoming roundtable to help scientists discover new support for their work.
“Finding Funding Grants for Your Research” will be held at Hackensack University Medical Center’s David and Alice Jurist Institute for Research and Clinical Research Center, in the Research Lecture Hall on the second floor, on Tuesday, January. 28, from 10 - 11 a.m.
The event will be broadcast live on the network’s Blue Jeans system.
The grants support team will outline how to search for external funding opportunities to sponsor clinical and non-clinical research. They will discuss different sources of funding, types of grants and tips for efficient and successful grant seeking.
The first 40 minutes will include presentations by: David Candelmo, manager, Sponsored Programs, Hackensack Meridian Health; Jessica Arrighi, manager of Grants Administration, at the Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI); Marina Savransky, research grants analyst, CDI; and Tia Scott, research analyst, CDI.
The remainder of the hour will be a question-and-answer session.
Topics will include the use of databases like infoEd, the Foundation Center, and grants.gov. The event intends to help newer researchers focus their searches, and more experienced scientists find alternative grant sources they may not have previously considered.
