Rosenstein Lab

Rachel Rosenstein, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Member of the Center for Discovery and Innovation and an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Dermatology Division at Hackensack University Medical Center.  She is board-certified in Dermatology.

The Rosenstein laboratory focuses on understanding the pathogenesis of cutaneous inflammatory and fibrotic diseases, with a specific interest in cutaneous manifestations of oncologic therapies.  Our current research aims to elucidate the inflammatory and fibrotic signals that promote development of chronic graft-versus-host disease in the skin after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

We are utilizing transcriptomic studies in human skin to identify candidates for further mechanistic studies in pre-clinical models.

We are further evaluating the ability to use a combination of candidate plasma proteins as a biological measure of skin disease burden that would function as a longitudinal biomarker.  The ultimate goal is to characterize different disease phenotypes and identify new pharmacologic targets to enable personalization of therapies.
